Other discussion:
1) August we will be reading our 100th Book - please try to think of ideas/ways to celebrate. Jen suggested we do something similar to how Kindergarteners celebrate 100 days of school by making something with 100 items, etc. Still have a couple months to come up with ideas.

2) Pam handed out registration forms for the Cancer Cruise 5K Run & Walk and the Car Cruise held on Saturday, May 21.  (see attachments) - Also please help in spreading the word - hang up around the places you work/hang out. Thanks! Jen also said that they are working to put together a vendor fair between the Run/Walk and Car Show.

3) Rob Ebben, the author of "It Can't Happen Here - Answers in the Sand" (by Robert M Dudley) contacted Pam about hosting a book talk. This book is about the Jacob Wetterling story. The dates he proposed were Wednesday July 13 or Thursday July 14 at 6:30 or 7 p.m. He does this for free. He would either sell his books for $10 or he could sell for $15 and donate $5 from each book to the local library or local charity of choice. Pam will talk to Sharon about this more. Our role would be to help advertise/bring people to the event.

 4) Also, there are rumblings on Gert & Erma's not being open on Thursday nights anymore. Stay tuned for more info on this. I did tally up our attendance and we are averaging 9 a night with our low months June/July at 6 and our high month 14 in January/15. I'm not sure if our attendance is the issue - but they did mention that the summer months we seem to slack off. In years past I did not see that happening so not sure if that was just a 2015 summer thing or what?

5) Those of us who came voted for our next 6 books. I also got votes from Kristin and Buffy. Will wait for any other votes until April 4 and then publish.

NEXT BOOKS - If you are having trouble finding books - try amazon.com or allibris.com or bookfinder.com or thriftbooks.com . Also if your local library/area libraries don't have the book, you can also check mnlink which looks statewide.

April - Laurie - The Captain's Wife by Douglas Kelley (336 pages)
May - Pam - The Ice Twins by S.K. Tremayne (320 pages)
June - Anne - Left Neglected by Lisa Genova (352 pages)

January -Sarah - Breaking Night: A Memoir of Forgiveness, Survival, and My Journey from Homeless to Harvard by Liz Murray (352 pages)

Ice breaker: Favorite memory of Stacie

Sarah read: Breaking Night Her favorite memory of Stacie was that Stacie broke her self-imposed facebook ban to talk to Sarah and let her know that she was voting for her.

Patti: 0 books - Her favorite memory was that whenever something inappropriate was said that Stacie would roar with laughter.

Dawn: Breaking Night, Sunflower by Richard Paul Evans - Her favorite memory was New Years when Stacie, Pam, and Dawn went to the VFW for cocktails... all doing shots. Stacie's text the next morning was "no more fucking shots". Dawn also stated she loved how Stacie loved Tatum and how that there were always more adults than kids at Tate's birthdays.

Sandy: Read Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keys (saw the movie of breaking night). - loved how Stacie ( as old as her youngest son is ) enjoyed chatting about Gus Davis and school with her.

Laurie: Breaking Night, Pendragon: book one the merchant of death by D.J. McHale, Christmas Around the World by Mary D. Lankford, Alex Cross, Run by James Patterson, Cross my Heart by James Patterson - loved spending Schell Brewery's first Octoberfest singing Zicke Zacke Zicke Zacke Oi! Oi! Oi! with Stacie, Kyle, Mark (Batman) and Pam. Had a blast!!!

Kimberly: A Greif Observed by C.S. Lewis, - enjoyed egging Stacie on to come back to bookclub with her. Kim who originally came to bookclub thru Jen G. once got caught up in a passionate discussion with Stacie at bookclub and then the became friends after that. After Kims' divorce they often joked around about Stacie being Kim's wife.

Buffy: 0 books - Wants to start 2016 with February. Buffy was walking thru her closet and found some cards that Stacie wrote to her when they worked at Nordic track ( they made her laugh so hard that tears were coming out of her eyes). Stacie was the most complicated person I've ever met - we've had our ups and downs - Drove to New Orleans is 1991. Remember sitting on the balcony and rating kids in the pool in Memphis. Using Elvis Presley cups to walk up and down the streets drinking alcohol. Living on beinets and coffee. Stacie drove home to her grandmother's who started vacuuming really loud even though we'd been up the whole night before driving.

Wendy: Short Life of Bree Taner , - favorite emory of Stacie was " mother fucker bitch dog" dealing with a complaint letter from a guy who no longer wanted to recieve Nordic track literature.
Also "coffee bitch". Also how she had to change Staci's cat litter when Stacie was pregnant...because Stacie didn't want to inconvience her neighbors (even though Wendy traveled from Watertown to Arlington to change the litter). She also talked about how the copy room was their sanctuary on Friday's after "girls night" on Thursdays.

Katie P: 0 books - She said that she felt right at home when Stacie said something obnoxious and Katie thought it was funny. And that she knew it would be okay at bookclub because we weren't judgemental.

Anne: Maude by Donna Mabry - She liked how Stacie was contemplating changing Tate to a new school and could understand how hard it is to raise a 14 year old boy.
